Biography
Arturo Heredia received his B.A. from UC, Berkeley, his M.A. from Northwestern University, and his Ph.D. from Stanford University.
He has taught at Northwestern U., University of the Pacific, and through Stanford's Introduction to the Humanities Program. Although he has taught a very wide variety of subjects--including classes on popular culture, cultural studies, American literature, and Ethnic literature--he has always emphasized the rhetorical aspects of texts. His most recent classes include "Ethnic Narratives and the Rhetoric of American Identity" and "The Rhetoric of American Multicultural Experience."
He is also interested in the intersdicplinary connections between philosophy, social thought, literary theory and the rhetoric of fiction and other knds of rhetoric including film and music.
